The Importance Of Istiqamah Behavior In Life
Istiqamah, if we are interpreted simply is commitment, consistency and sustainability. If we further reiterate then Istiqamah means a steadfast attitude to the establishment and consequent in action. In more broadly the meaning of Istiqamah is a steadfast attitude in doing a virtue, willing to defend and defend faith and Christianity, even to face various obstacles and temptations.
Istiqamah can also be interpreted as a firm establishment in Tawhid and still do the charity that Shaleh (Arabic).
Ibn Rajab (may Allah have mercy on him) defines Istiqamah:
Which is meant by Istiqamah in his faith, is istiqamah the practice of his limbs, because the practice of limbs will not be istiqamah, except with Istiqamahnya of the liver. The meaning of Istiqamah is to be filled with love for Allah Almighty, love in Obeying Him and hate to ask Him.
Here is an example of prayer so that we are given the ability to always be Istiqamah in life.
THE IMPORTANCE OF ISTIQAMAH BEHAVIOUR IN LIFE
Living in a modern day full of temptation and survival is certainly very difficult, except for special people who are in the mystery of Allah Almighty. There are times when we see someone who in the morning was a believer but in the afternoon he was already kufur, and vice versa. It is not an easy thing of course, there are many temptations whether in the form of material, fame or popularity that can make a forgotten self. Those temptations make us far from the mercy and affection of Allah.
Many of us witnessed in television news how officials had been dragged on corruption due to lack of Istiqamah stance on his promise as an official when he was on the lantic. The temptation of matter has dazzle and darkened their eyes and also their hearts. Only a strong person is his faith who can behave Istiqamah against his promises. People who always cling to the true belief if we are like one who is holding a flaming coal.
If only those officers can be Istiqamah of course the value of their reward on the side of Allah will multiply. Why? Because they have the position, authority and of course the opportunity to do corruption but they are reluctant to do so because in their hearts there are still faith and fear of Allah Almighty.
Then istiqamah like what is taught in Islam? Istiqamah true is Istiqamah in the Tawhid as mentioned by Allah in the Qur'an surah Al-A'nam verse 157 :
"Aw taqooloo law anna onzila AAalayna alkitabu lakunna ahda minhum faqad jaakum bayyinatun min rabbikum wahudan warahmatun faman athlamu mimman kaththaba biayati Allahi wasadafa AAanha sanajzee allatheena yasdifoona AAan ayatina sooa alAAathabi bima kanoo yasdifoona"
Mean:
Or lest you should say: “If the Book had been sent down to us, we would certainly have been better guided than they”. So indeed there has come to you a clear proof from your Lord, and Guidance (delivering to Hidayet) and a mercy. Who then is more unjust than he who denies the Verses of Allah and turns away from them? We will punish those who turn away from Our Verses with an evil torment because they turned away.
Below is the tafseer of surah Al-A'nam verse 157, as follow:
Tafseer verse on Istiqomah and so that you (the Musyrikin) do not have an "if it were handed down to us from heaven, as it was passed on to Jews and Christians, surely we would be more Istiqomah on the path of righteousness than they did." It has come to you the book with your spoken language which is the real Arabic language of the heavens with your mother tongue, and it is a clear hujjah of your God and a guide to the path of righteousness Then no one is more persecuted and greater is the per persecution of the man who denied the Hujjjah of God and then he turned away from him! Those who turn, we will be legal with a harsh torment in hell to be ignorant, because they turn away from our verses and obstruct (others) from our path. End Quote from Tafseer al-Muyassar
And so you guys are the calamites-do not say, "If God lowers the Scriptures to us as he revealed to the Jews and the Christians, we will be better than them." But you have been visited by the scripture that Allah has sent down to your prophet, Muhammad-ṣallallāhu ' alaihi wa sallam-Using your language. And that Scripture is a clear argument, a guide to the right path and a mercy for the people. Then do not ask for the weak reasons and the pretext of the batteries. No one is more unrighteous than the one who denied the verses of Allah and turned away from him. Someday we will punish those who turn away from Our verses with very hard punishment. We will incorporate them into the hell of the wicked in return for the actions of those who have turned away from our verses and ignored them. (Tafseer al-Mukhtashar)
From the verses above, there are obvious attitudes of people who istiqamah among others:
1. Keep and follow the lines of signs that have been determined by the religion. Where are the things that are allowed according to the sharia of religion and which are not.
2. Run all the commandments of Allah and leave all the Challenges.
3. The people who Istiqamah do not have to worry about themselves because on the day of the Resurrection God will ensure their safety.
