Both of our parents are the ones we care about most, we respect and obey, after the command of Allah SWT to worship and have faith in Him. Parents are the representative of Allah in the real world because the prayers that are extended by our parents will be heard by Allah Almighty.

So, the glorious position of our parents in the side of Allah, then it is proper that we all have to be devoted to them.As a child, there are some guidance and etiquette as to how we treat our two parents. Among them are as follows:

1. Look at our parents with a pleasant outlook.
Although we are annoyed or angry though, in the presence of our parents, we must demonstrate a joyful and pleasing view of both. Never look at them with a keen and unpleasant eye view.
Rasulullah (May Allah Honor Him) said in his hadits as follows:

وإذا تكَلَّمَ خَفَضُوا أصواتَهم عندَه ، وما يُحِدُّون إليه النظرَ؛ تعظيمًا له
Means:
"If the companions speak with the messenger of Allaah, they humble themselves and they do not look sharp as a form of mourning for the Prophet" (Narrated by Al-Bukhari 2731).

That is our first adab to parents as a manifestation of our reverence as a child to them.

2. Humbling the voice before both of our parents.
While talking with them we should humble our tone of voice. Do not once-times we speak loudly to them let alone snap our parents because it is one of the great sins of the ungodly to the elderly. In history in say that to say "Ahh... "We are banned let alone to bump it. By lowering the voice, our parents will be delighted by the praises of his son.

3. Do not cut or precede them in the said words.
If both of our parents were speaking we should let and hear them complete the talks. Don't cut or interrupt while they're talking.

4. Do not sit when our parents are standing before us.
Such a habit was the custom of the Romans and Persians so that we should not be able to impersonate it. Rasulullah (May Allah Honor Him) firmly forbid us to do such.

5. First, we are our parents.
We should put our parents first in the affairs or things of the world. For example, eating, drinking and so on. After they have finished we do so.

This is the rule that is modeled by the Prophet Muhammad (May Allah Honor Him), as told in history following.

So a glimpse of the article on the Adab of both our parents. Hopefully useful for all of us. May Allah glorify both our parents and forgive all their sins.
