The Relationship Between Worship and Work - Allah says in Qs Al Jumuah verses 9-10 "O you who believe when called to perform prayers on Friday, then walk you to remember Allah and leave the trade. That is better for you if you only knew. "If the prayer is tired, spread out on this earth and seek the gift of God and remember God as much as possible so that you are lucky."

Life is a journey that must be traveled and fulfilled as an obligation on all the trusts placed on each of our shoulders.

We can see not a few of the people who are too dissolved by the search for worldly wealth, living luxuriously so the main priority (hedonistic) wealth is made the qibla as a toy of the eyes.

While the (spiritual) heart that should also be filled with faith, obedience, etc. is often ignored, and even often left on purpose.

Basically man can judge and do everything well and carefully, and there is no virtue in worship and work or in filling second by second in our days, unless always accompanied by contemplation and strive to always be in a container of goodness.

Similarly, in performing the acts of worship that have been ordered by the khalik, everything must be accompanied by forward-oriented thinking. This will be realized by always paying attention as carefully as possible to all our behavior from the beginning to the end of deeds of worship.

Like a farmer who cultivates his garden who plays on his thinking to get good and abundant produce. Then he must work carefully and as carefully as possible.

In Qs Al Jumuah verses 9 and 10 above Allah explains that if called to carry out His command that is prayer, then it is a necessity to leave all worldly affairs in any form and in any busy condition. Immediately perform prayers, remembrance, and pray calmly and full of devotion.

Rasulullah PBUH, who has been guaranteed by Allah Ta'ala to enter heaven, still continues to take refuge in Him from the state of the heart that is never devout and from all knowledge that is not useful. As his words narrated by Zaid Bin Argam "O Allah, indeed I seek refuge in Mudari useless knowledge, from a heart that is not devout, from lust that is not satisfied and from prayers that are not granted and from deeds of worship that are not accepted" .

From the words of Rasulullah above there is an explanation that it is very detrimental if the state of our heart is never devout, then all the knowledge that is in it will not be useful, his voice is not heard and even worse, every prayer will not be accepted by Allah.

Because the person concerned according to the perspective of Prophet in a state of negligence and his mind has been dissolved by worldly interests alone. If we fulfill God's call in the form of prayer well, correctly, on time, then the mind will be refreshed, the heart will be calm and ready to carry out the next obligation of trying to meet the needs of this world for the sake of children and wives.

Similarly, in fulfilling these worldly things, Allah Ta'ala commands us to always remember Him as much as possible. This is to ensure that whatever we try to always receive blessings and pleasure from Him and be spared from various forms of cheating and deviation.

It is Allah who knows everything, both the concrete and the abstract "Al mulgaibi Wal shahadatilazizul hakim". Who knows the unseen and the visible, the Mighty, the Wise ”. (Qs Al Taghaabun-18).

In worship and work, the role of the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet cannot be ruled out. In achieving happiness, Islam guides its people through the two guidelines above to always give birth to what is called balance, balance which in Arabic is called Tawazun.

While a person who in his daily life always balances between the two interests (world and the hereafter) is called Mutawazun which has basically become a human nature. And Allah, the Almighty Creator, made man always in a state of balance and very in accordance with the needs of man himself.

To carry out all instructions. God never gives anything good or bad beyond human ability. Whomsoever Allah guides, no one is able to mislead him, and the finished one whom He has misled, surely no one will be able to guide him.

In essence, the scope of worship is very wide and unlimited. Therefore, performing acts of worship in an Islamic perspective must be in accordance with one's ability.

Worship that is obligatory, however, must be performed with full awareness and high responsibility, as well as the nature of sunnah and all forms of goodness in the form of encouragement is also very good to do, as a complement if there is a deficiency in carrying out the obligation in doing good deeds.

Work must be adapted to the ability and expertise possessed and not too self -imposed to get maximum results. Similarly, Allah never burdens human beings except in accordance with their ability, as Allah says in Qs Al Baqarah-286. "

" God does not burden a person except according to his ability. He shall have the reward of what he did, and he shall have the punishment of what he did. (they pray) "O our god do not punish us if we forget or we are wrong. Our Lord, do not burden us with a heavy burden as You burdened those before us. Our Lord, do not burden us with anything that we are not able to bear. Forgive us, forgive us and have mercy on us. You are our helper, so help us against the disbelieving people ”.

The above verse is very strong as a guide in worship and work, which also contains prayers that contain the meaning of the close relationship between a servant and Allah Aza Wajalla, even the Prophet himself strongly recommends to always read the verses and prayers above after performing prayers and remembrance.

This is so that anything we try both for God (worship) and for the family (work) does not produce results in vain. To Allah alone we seek refuge from everything that will cause harm.
