The Priority of Fasting and Reward on Fasting People - "EVERY human practice is for him except fasting. The practice of fasting is for Me." This history shows that every human practice is for him. As for the practice of fasting, Allah specializes in Himself. God relies on such practices for Him. No wonder then that people who fast get a special position before Allah Ta'ala.

The priority of fasting

1. Fasting is a Barrier to the Punishment of Hell. Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wa Sallam said, "Fasting is a shield that can protect a servant from the fire of hell," (Hadith narrated by Ahmad).

2. Fasting will provide intercession for the person who performs it. Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wa Sallam said, "Fasting and the Qur'an will give intercession to a servant on the Day of Judgment. Fasting will say, 'O my Lord, I have restrained him from eating and lust, therefore allow me to intercede for him'. And the Qur'an says, 'I have forbidden him from sleeping at night, therefore allow me to intercede for him.' He said, 'So the intercession of both is allowed, "(HR Ahmad).

3. People who fast will receive the forgiveness of sins. Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wa Sallam said, "Whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan because of faith and expects a reward from Allah then his sins in the past will be forgiven," [HR Bukhari]

Rewards For Those Who Fast

“Every good deed done by human beings will be multiplied by ten good deeds such as up to seven hundred times. Allah Ta'ala says (which means), "Except the practice of fasting. The practice of fasting is for Me. I will repay it myself. Because he has left orgasm and food because of Me. The person who fasts will get two happiness namely happiness when he breaks his fast and happiness when meeting his Rabb. Indeed, the smell of the mouth of a person who fasts is more fragrant in the sight of Allah than the smell of misk oil, ” [HR Bukhari].

In another narration, it is said, "Allah Ta'ala said (which means)," Every human deed is for him except fasting. The practice of fasting is for Me, ” [HR Bukhari].

In the narration of Ahmad it is said, "Allah 'Azza Wa Jalla says (which means)," Every deed is as Kafarah / ransom except the practice of fasting. The practice of fasting is for Me. I will repay it," [HR Ahmad]

Infinite Rewards Behind the Fast

From the first narration, it is said that each deed will be multiplied by ten virtues to seven hundred such virtues. Then the practice of fasting is excluded. The practice of fasting is not doubled as before. The practice of fasting is not limited to the fold of the reward. Therefore, the practice of fasting will be multiplied by God many times without any number limit.

Why is that possible? Ibn Rajab Al Hambali - may God bless him - said, "Because fasting is part of patience". Regarding the reward of those who are patient, Allah Ta'ala said, "Indeed, only those who are patient will have their reward without limit," [QS. Az Zumar]

There are three kinds of namely:

1. patience in doing obedience to God.

2. patient in leaving the forbidden and,

3. patient is facing a painful destiny.

These three forms of patience are all found in the practice of fasting. In fasting, of course, there is a form of obedience, avoiding things that are forbidden, also in fasting a person tries to be patient from painful things such as refraining from hunger, thirst, and weakness of the body. That is why the practice of fasting can reap infinite rewards as a patient.
