Fiqh of Worship Prayer in Islam

Knowing More Deeply About Fiqh of Worship In Islam, before starting worship activities, it is obligatory to be pure from major and minor hadas. Hadas is anything that makes oneself impure. As for what is classified as minor hadas, for example, urinating and passing wind.

While belonging to the big hadas, one example is after having a husband and wife relationship (in a state of junub). So it is obligatory to clean it either by ablution or by bathing.

One part of worship in Islam is prayer. Prayer is a worship that must be done by Muslims and Muslimat. In one day, Muslims are required to pray five times (five times) at predetermined times.

The times are Fajr (before sunrise), Dzuhur (day), Asr (afternoon), Maghrib (sunset) and Isha (night). In addition to the obligatory prayers, or commonly referred to in Arabic as fard prayers.

Performing Wudhu Before Prayer

Before praying, Muslims are required to be pure from hadas. One way is to perform ablution. Wudhu is purification with water associated with washing the face, two hands, head and two feet. The importance of ablution is so important that there is a proof in the Qur'an which reads:

"O you who believe, when you want to pray, then wash your face and your hands up to the elbows, and wipe your head and (wash) your feet up to the ankles. ...." (Surah Al-Maidah: 6)

In the Hadith of Abu Hurairah ra, Rasulullah SAW said:

"The prayer of one of you will not be accepted if you make ablution (not perform ablution) until you perform ablution (first)" (HR. Shaykhani, Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi)

Obligatory Conditions for Prayer

Prayer is worship performed with words and deeds that begins with takbir and ends with greetings. Prayer has obligatory conditions, its pillars, its sunnahs, its makruh-makruh and several things that make it invalid.

The conditions for prayer are as follows:

  • Islamic
  • sensible
  • Baligh
  • call to prayer until him not menstruating and postpartum
  • Normal senses-Time
  • Time Haram and Makruh Salah

Perform prayer should not be arbitrary because it has been determined appropriate times. So there is what is called the times of haram and makruh in praying. 

The times that are forbidden are:

  • When the sun rises until it slightly rises
  • When istiwa', ie when the sun is directly overhead at midday until it slips a little
  • When the sun is yellowish about to set until it completely sinks
  • And the times that are makruh in praying 

These are:

  • After the morning prayer until the sun rises
  • After the Asr prayer until the sun sets
  • When the iqamah of the obligatory prayer has been declared

Conditions for the Validity of Prayer

After knowing the forbidden and makruh times in praying, then this becomes the basis or becomes one of the conditions for the validity of the prayer. 

There are six conditions for a valid prayer:

  • Knowing the entry of theprayer time

  • body, clothes and the place used for prayer
  • Covering the genitals
  • Facing the Qibla of 
  • Intentions
