The Third Pillar Of Faith | Faith In The Holy Books Of God

The Third Pillar Of Faith | Faith In The Holy Books Of God

The third pillar of faith is to have faith in the books of God. God Subhanhu Wata'ala himself had lowered the books to his prophets and apostles.

As for the books down to the Prophets and apostles is as a guideline for mankind in the path of righteousness, the way that is endowed and in the mystery of Allah ALMIGHTY. By referring to books, people will not get lost and wrong.

Allah ALMIGHTY has lowered four (4) books given to the Prophets and their apostles. The four books are:

1. The Torah
The Torah was sent down by Allah ALMIGHTY to the Prophet Moses and the people of the children of Israel.

2. The Book of Zabur
The book of Zabur was handed down by Allah ALMIGHTY to the prophet David.

3. The Gospels
The Gospels are handed down by Allah ALMIGHTY to the Prophet Jesus (Isa in Arabic) and his people, the Christians.

4. Holy Quran
The Holy Quran is revealed by Allah ALMIGHTY to the Prophet Muhammad (May Allah Honor Him) and his people who are Muslims. The Holy Qur'an is a book of refinements from the books that were sent down by God ALMIGHTY before. That is exactly the meaning of the three pillars of faith in the books of God.

Of all the books that have been down by Allah ALMIGHTY all contain the teachings of Tauhid (in Arabic ) namely recognizing the unity of God ALMIGHTY.

Read the content of the doctrinal principles of the scriptures that are being handed down by Allah to the Prophets and apostles in another article on this blog.

Apart from the books, Allah ALMIGHTY also lowers the Suhuf-Suhuf to the Prophets and apostles. The difference between the Suhuf and the book is that the Suhuf is the word of Allah that is handed down to the prophets and apostles in the form of separate sheets. Suhuf itself contains the basic laws of Allah ALMIGHTY to be made as a guideline of human life.

Meanwhile, a book is a book. In terms of content, of course, a book has more complete content compared to Suhuf. Then from the validity period, a book has a longer validity period.

Some several prophets and apostles receive the Suhuf from Allah ALMIGHTY, as follow :

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَىٰ
صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ
1. The Prophet Idris (in Arabic) received as many as 30 pieces of Suhuf.
2. The Prophet Sys (in Arabic) received several 50 pieces of Suhuf.
3. Prophet Abraham received 10 pieces of Suhuf.
4. The Prophet Moses received 10 pieces of Suhuf.

Look at the word of Allah said in Surah Al A'laa verses 18 and 19 below:

Means :
18. Exalt the name of your Lord, the highest
19. Who created and proportioned.

If the separate Suhufs in the form of the sheets are gathered into one then it is called the Mushaf or scripture.
One similarity between the book and the Suhuf is that the two are both the words of the ALMIGHTY God who passed on to the prophets and their Apostles.

The foundation of a Muslim to have faith in the books of Allah is the evidence of Naqli found in the Qur'an.

Allah ALMIGHTY speaks in Surah An Nisa verse 136:

Means:
O you who have believed, believe in Allah and His Messenger and the book that he sent down upon his Messenger and the Scripture which He sent down before. And whoever disbelieves in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers and the Last Day has certainly gone far astray.

All the books that were handed down by Allah ALMIGHTY to the Prophets and apostles only occurred at the time of the Prophet and the Apostle lived except the holy Book of the Qur'an that is valid until the end of time.

Thus the article on the meaning of the pillars of the third faith believers in the books of God. Hopefully useful and beneficial for all of us.
