Signs When Death Takes

Signs When Death Takes

Every living creature on this earth will surely meet death. The separation of the spirit from the body comes to beings in unpredictable times and places. Humans, animals, plants feel death to come when fate has arrived and only the Almighty knows when it will occur.

The issue of age is the full secret of the Creator, Allah Azza wa Jalla. He has created man complete with sustenance, mate, until his death.

It's just that sometimes humans neglect that they need their God to reach a better life after death. Because, there will be another nature that must be passed after humans die, namely the afterlife.

Medical Signs of Death

From the medical side, the process leading to death has its own characteristics. Death picks up with signs of a decrease in body temperature.

There are three conditions that mark death normally in a person who develops in a medical environment, namely as follows:

Algor Mortis

This is the first sign of death. The characteristic is that body temperature will continue to decrease along with the process leading to death. The temperature outside is suddenly colder than body temperature.

Body temperature decreases faster when indoors. In young children, changes in body temperature to cold occur even more quickly. It takes about 24 hours for the body to cool completely completely.

Cheynes-Stokes Respiration

In addition to algor mortis, death is also characterized by problems with breathing. In Cheynes-Stokes Respiration, a person experiences a way of breathing that is faster and gradually becomes very fast. The effect that arises is the work of the heart becomes weaker.

Over time, this condition of rapid breathing, also known as hyperventilation, makes the body weak. The person seems to lose energy and the ability to breathe for a long time.

During this period of rapid breathing, the person may experience apnea. Apnea is the cessation of breathing or the inability to breathe. In fact, the absence of oxygen that enters the body through the breath, will make the organs lack of fresh blood.

This causes the body's cells to die immediately and leads to stretching of life. Death in this way is often found in patients with heart failure, shortness of breath, pneumonia, and other respiratory diseases. These symptoms appear when the patient is in a critical phase of his illness.

Death Rattle

Death rattle is a common sign of death found in a person. Characteristically, the person who will die will voice a scream that sounds heart-wrenching because it is very scary. The person screamed like that because he had lost the reflex to swallow.

Saliva eventually becomes accumulated so that it fills the areas of the lungs and throat. The person seemed to choke and death occurred. Maybe the doctor will give anti-pain medication for this. However, when the time of death has arrived, the patient will also die.

The Process of Death in Islam

In Islam, death is a matter that is thoroughly peeled off. Death is also an event that must be reminded for everyone that the incident is real and not everyone will easily go through it. Every life will feel the sacratul maut, which is the removal of the spirit through the crown by the angel of death.

For a pious person, the pain of the removal of the spirit may be "softer" than for a person who always opposes God. However, the gentle removal of the spirit still leaves pain. In a hadith it is said, the pain of this sacratul maut is approximately equivalent to 300 sword strokes.

Physically, a person will also have signs to experience death normally. In a history narrated, the angel of death met the Prophet Ya'kub. Prophet Ya'kub said to the angel of death, "I want something that you must fulfill as a form of our brotherhood." The angel of death answered, "What is it?".

Prophet Ya'kub continued: "If my death is near, let me know." The angel of death then agreed and would send two or three messengers when the death of the Prophet Ya'kub was near. Prophet Ya'kub and the angel of death then separated.

As time passed, the angel of death came back to meet the Prophet Ya'kub. When asked about the need to visit the Prophet Ya'kub, the angel of death replied that he would take the life of the prophet. Prophet Ya'kub also asked the three messengers of the angel of death who had been promised before his death.

And, the angel of death said that the three messengers had actually been sent to the Prophet Ya'kub. Then, the angel of death said, “Your hair is white after its blackness, your body is weak after its strength, and your body is bent after its erection. O Ya'kub, that is my messenger to every Bani Adam."

From this history, it is quite clear that normally, every human being who has shown his physical weakness as a sign will have his life taken away. The appearance of gray hair and bowing of the body is a complement that the angel of death will come at an unexpected time.

Prophet Ya'kub himself was not even clearly informed of the time of his death. This is something that should be a lesson that every human being should always equip himself with righteous deeds so that he can face death that comes unexpectedly.

Meanwhile, the process of someone's death can be seen starting 100 days before the day of his death. More details are as follows:

100 Days Before Death

On that day, a person will feel suddenly cold from head to toe. The body seems to vibrate. Usually this happens after Asr time. People who are aware of this may feel the presence of death.

Meanwhile, those who don't realize will return to their day as usual. If you meet this sign, then it is better to immediately add more pious deeds as provisions for death. This is also an encouragement that looking for provisions to face death should not just wait for the signs to arrive.

40 Days Before Death

At that time, the navel seemed to be throbbing at the time after Asr. This is a sign, the leaf which is located near the Throne of Allah and contains the name of a person has fallen and is then picked up by the angel of death as part of the people whose lives will be taken away.

Sometimes the grim reaper briefly shows his face and the person immediately becomes confused. The person will be followed for the rest of his life.

1 Day Before Death

People who will die will feel a pulse at the time after Asr. This pulse is located around the crown. This is a sign that the life is no longer with the body until Asr is maximum the next day.

At Death

This time of, the navel is cold enough to the waist. Then, the cold immediately spread to the upper body. Throat as if constricted.

For Muslims, it is better if the accompanying family guides them to say the talbiyah sentence or the shahada. Because, the phrase "Laa illaaha illallaahu" is one of the keys to heaven for Muslims who are able to say it before death.

The best provisions for death are righteous deeds and piety. With this provision, God willing, a Muslim will get relief in living life in the grave and in the hereafter.
